Practice Description:
Provide victim offender, community, and parent/adolescent mediation services.
Referrals come from the Juvenile Department and criminal justice system and are screened by CMS staff for appropriateness. Trained volunteer mediators then meet separately with disputants to explore the opportunities of mediation and willingness to participate. Mediations are usually facilitated by one mediator, but co-mediation is always an option. The co-mediation model is used for parent/adolescent mediation.

Education / Training:
One full-time Director, and a dedicated group of trained volunteer mediators who do case development and mediate disputes. All volunteer mediators have completed 34 hours of Basic Mediation Training and an apprenticeship. Evaluation and continuing education are on-going.
Fee Information:
No fee for services. No qualification requirements; VORP/CMS cases are screened for appropriateness
