Practice Description:
Pat Vallerand offers a continuum of Dispute Resolution Services to individuals, businesses and organizations, including nonprofits. She is experienced, knowledgeable, creative and compassionately committed to helping people resolve conflict and reach agreement in a way that fits their individual needs and leads to maintaining and/or building positive relationships.
Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation:
Having received training in various mediation styles, Pat is able to provide a process and approach that best serves individual client needs, from facilitative/transformational to investigative/evaluative analysis. She also offers other services such as Case Development and Consulting, Facilitation and Arbitration.
Background:
Pat Vallerand brings an extensive,varied background to her work, having previously practiced law for 17 years with an emphasis on trial work involving family, custody, juvenile, probate, employment, civil rights and consumer cases. She has served as a part time Pro Tempore Judge with the Lane County Circuit courts, Arbitrator for the Lane County Circuit Courts and a Mediator and Impartial Hearing Officer for the State of Oregon Department of Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation Division. She has owned her own ADR business since 1998.
Education / Training:
Pat has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Oregon and has had extensive training in dispute resolution on an ongoing basis since 1980. She has received advanced training in organizational structure and workplace management and disputes. Pat was an adjunct professor with the UO Law School from 2006 until 2012, teaching and supervising the Domestic Violence Clinic as well as the Survivors Justice Center of Lane County Legal Aid & Advocacy Center.
Fee Information:
Basic hourly fee for services is $150 an hour. A half-day or full-day fee may be applied in appropriate cases. Travel time out of town is generally charged at $45 an hour, plus expenses. Contact us for further information on fees, billable costs and charges.
