I have been a family law attorney for 41 years (but retired from the Oregon State Bar effective Dec. 31, 2018. I have served as a mediator for over 30 years. I have returned from a sabbatical to provide a limited number of mediations (2 couples at a time).
Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation:
Generally, mediation sessions are conducted with all parties, with individual caucuses as appropriate.
Background:
In the first 10 years of my law practice, I primarily did family law litigation. In the late 1980's, I was introduced to mediation and began to move my practice in this direction. In the mid 90's, I was able to establish a fulltime mediation practice, and therefore, stopped litigating.
