Practice Description:
Julie provides high-quality mediation services in the areas of divorce, parenting time, and adoption & guardianship.
Approach to Practice / Form of Mediation:
Julie practices an interest-based, facilitative style of mediation. Julie keeps parties together until it is no longer appropriate. Then, she separates parties and shuttles between the parties.
Background:
In additional to Julie's mediation practice, Julie is the author of Divorce Mediation In Oregon, a former adjunct professor of mediation at the University of Oregon School of Law. Julie lives and breathes mediation. She doesn’t litigate matters and then mediate on the side, which is clearly demonstrated in her process and her outcomes. Julie is a full-time, attorney-mediator and is known by her fellow attorneys as a “closer.” She gets parties to settlement, even if that means she walks with them through the fiery pits of the conflict.
Education / Training:
Recently, Julie received the prestigious 2014 Oregon Mediation Association’s Sid Lezak Award Of Excellence for providing outstanding mediation services throughout Oregon. Julie has been recognized as a 2012 and 2013 Super Lawyer Rising Star in Oregon. She also received the Top-20-Under-40 Business Leaders in Lane County award by The Register-Guard in 2011.
